Following the recent horrific news that happened during a Halloween party in Seoul where more than 150 people were killed in a crowd surge, a similar issue has risen again. On the 4th of November, a bomb threat was made to the K-pop band NCT 127 during their concert. But after police scouted the area and found it to be a hoax, the concert went on. However NCT 127 was forced to end their first concert in Jakarta early after around 30 fans fainted in the audience due to a crush.

Just before the crush happened, the concert had been going on for about two hours. When the band was handing out signed freebies to fans, fans at the back started pushing toward the stage. They started to push so much that the barricade fences also collapsed. This caused 30 people to faint, so to prevent further accidents, they decided to stop the concert at 9:20pm.

They were warned multiple times by security and even by the NCT 127 members to stop pushing each other, but they were still selfish and ignored others’ safety just for good footage and the freebies. The police allowed the second NCT 127 concert to go on the next day, but banned the distribution of goodies or merchandise to fans, as well as placing stricter measures to prevent this issue from recurring. They also added more paramedics and security for the second show, in order to provide the best experience at the concert.

On day 2 of the show, the Indonesian fans created an apology project towards NCT 127 regarding the previous day’s incidents. They all held signs on their phones saying “WE’RE SORRY URICHIL” attempting to apologize for the way the concert ended the day before. The concert on November 5th was able to go on without complications. During one of NCT 127’s speaking portions of the show, one of the members Jaehyun directly responded to the fans’ apologetic messages. “First of all, I see a couple of people holding up signs that says ‘sorry’ because of the performance yesterday. But our NCTzens have nothing to be sorry about.” He hoped that everyone would enjoy happy memories of the concert until the end. At the end of the day, it’s good to see some fans holding themselves responsible.
